Known to many in the scene, from Aleksandrovac, Serbia, Dosis Letalis is a HNW act by artist Nemanja Nikolić (Dosis Feralis, Eccentricity). This time offering Zakopano Blago (in English, Buried Treasure), conceptually "buried textures waiting to be discovered" (said by the artist). Delivering an hour of static and solid crackles with a subtle background buzz. Rough yet relaxing and meditative.

Zakopano Blago (Buried Treasure in English) finds respected Serbian wall noise project Dosis Letalis severing up an hours worth of highly detailed & layered static noise texturing- which as its title suggest offers up worthy sonic surprises for those willing to put in the time & the effort with the piece.

This release appeared late January 2019 on up & coming walled noise Bangkok based label Perpetual Abjection- who put out all of there release in ltd art editions, and digital downloads. This release had a physical edition of 25 copies- these featured a black Spray painted CDR and slimline jewel case, which comes with black paper scraps, white dust, and a paper insert. Sadly these have now all sold out from the label- so ones only option with this release is s digital download.

The release just takes in a single track that comes in at the sixty two minute mark. The ‘wall’ here is hellishly detailed & layered- and really at times you’re not quite sure how the project managed to bring together so many layers, and still, get a fairly balanced & even mix- where one can hear all of the layers details. After having a few plays through now I’m getting a ‘wall’ that brings together the following layers- though I can’t say that this list is definitive, as later plays may uncover even more- so we have: a constantly tumbling grainy rub & snap, a sputtering ‘n’ juddering crackle, a weaving high pitched insect-like scraping element, and a shifting grating textured sweep. These elements are tightly weaved together in a wonderfully jumpy, tense, yet at times quite a playful map of sound- which feels both overloading, yet at the captivating & nuanced. I’m sure along the tracks length we are getting some extra nudges of sub-tones coming into play.

Zakopano Blago is very much a release that fits into the ‘crackle’ focused side of Dosis Letalis discography - so I guess it's best to judge it from that standpoint instead of the projects wider discography- so as ‘crackle’ releases go this is another well-conceived ‘wall’- with nice balanced production & worthy layers, I’m not sure it’s as distinctive & clever as some of the releases in this bracket, hence I’ll give it a three out of five. But in the wider projects discography, it’s another nicely crafted ‘wall’.
